What Is Near Miss Reporting?

A near miss, also called a near hit, is an unintended incident that has the potential to cause injury, death, or other damage, but didn't. Near miss reporting is the accurate collection of these events in order to determine how and why they occurred so that appropriate measures can be taken to prevent similar – or even more serious – incidents from happening in the future.

Why Do Near Miss Reporting?

A near miss or hit is an indication that a correction is required in the workplace.
