The end of the year is always an important time for OSHA recordkeeping. If your establishment is covered by OSHA’s Injury and Illness Recordkeeping and Reporting requirements, you need to make sure that you have accurate and up-to-date injury and illness data before compiling, signing and posting your Form 300A summary by the February 1 deadline. This year, there’s the added obligation for establishments covered by the electronic reporting rule to electronically submit their 300A data to OSHA via the Injury Tracking Application by March 2.
Now is the perfect opportunity to brush up on your knowledge by watching our webinar “OSHA's Recordkeeping Standard: Your Guide to Compliance.” It’s available on-demand, or you can register for our live webinars on December 19, January 8, January 22, February 5, and February 27. You’ll learn everything you need to know to help simplify and streamline OSHA recordkeeping compliance. While you’re at it, be sure to take a look at the VelocityEHS Incident Management solution, which makes injury and illness recordkeeping easier than ever, with the capability to automatically generate a .csv file containing your electronic Form 300A data for lightning fast submission to OSHA.
Don’t forget that one of the most important purposes of recordkeeping is to help employers identify and address risks in the workplace, and that means performing detailed investigations and root cause analysis of incidents and workplace hazards. Unfortunately, many employers undermine their root cause analysis due to a number of common mistakes. Learn how to avoid these mistakes and take your root cause analysis to the next level by attending our webinar “Root Cause Analysis: Reduce the Risk of Future Accidents Using OSHA’s Incident Investigation Process” on February 19, or watch it whenever you like on-demand.
Another important upcoming deadline is the EPA Tier II reporting deadline on March 1. If you’ve got questions about your Tier II reporting requirements, don’t miss our webinar “EPA Tier II Reporting: How To Ensure Compliance with Updated Requirements” on February 7 or February 25, or watch it on-demand. We’ll help you determine your Tier II reporting obligations, and simplify the preparation of your reports for on time submission to EPA. For extra help, download our Tier II Cheat Sheet.
Of course, Tier II reporting is just one small facet of emergency planning. You also need to be aware of other applicable standards established by OSHA, EPA and other agencies, and have an effective system in place for communicating your emergency policies and procedures. Our all-new VelocityEHS webinar “Emergency Planning: Best Practices for Safety and Community Engagement” on January 29 will help you ensure you have the right systems in place to protect your workers and your community.
Does your facility have coverage under a National Pollution Elimination Systems (NPDES) stormwater discharge permit? Perhaps an even better question is “should it have?” If you’re covered by the Multi Sector General Permit (MSGP), you need to submit your annual report by January 30, and if you’re subject to permitting requirements but don’t yet have coverage, you need to act fast to get into compliance! Watch our webinar “Stormwater Management Programs: How to Integrate Best Practices and Software to Improve Compliance” on January 7 to get a better understanding of your regulatory obligations, along with best practices for ensuring compliance.
Every area of EHS management we’ve discussed here can be optimized through implementation of a good EHS management system. For example, more and more organizations are achieving greater levels of occupational health and safety performance through certification with the new ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety standard. Whether your facility is already certified to ISO 45001, or if you’re thinking about pursuing certification, our webinar “All About ISO 45001: Understanding the New Standard and What It Means for You” will give you the information you need to get started on the path toward occupational health and safety excellence. Spots are limited, so register today to attend the live event on January 15.
As the year comes to a close, many of us are working overtime to complete all of the analyses and reporting needed to evaluate past EHS performance, and to help plan for the future. It can be easy to feel a little overwhelmed when you’re dealing with so much data, and making heads or tails of it all can be a real struggle. That’s why EHS professionals are always looking for a more efficient way of collecting, maintaining and analyzing their EHS performance metrics.
Our all-new webinar “EHS Performance Metrics: How to Drive Workplace Safety and Sustainability Through Better Data” is designed to help you build and maintain a highly effective EHS metrics program. We’ll offer guidance on how to select the right metrics for your business, then leverage those metrics to drive better decision-making and EHS management. Register today to join us for the live event on January 30, 2019. While you’re there, be sure to check out the VelocityEHS Performance Metrics solution to learn how we can help you can more easily capture, analyze and report the EHS metrics that matter most to your organization.
