06/19/2015
The Kinesis Freestyle2 Blue keyboard (offered in both Mac and PC versions) was designed to interact with multiple separate Bluetooth enabled devices while maximizing comfort and productivity through a flexible, ergonomic design.
Ergonomic Benefits and Features:
• Negative slope design reduces the wrist extension
• Two-piece design of the keyboard reduces ulnar deviation
• Optional accessories provide adjustable lateral tilt and multiple tent settings
• Unique key features for Cut, Copy, Paste, Undo
• Larger key size for frequently used keys, i.e. Delete and Escape keys
• Palm support (also detachable)
• Bluetooth connectivity (wireless connection)
Potential Limitations:
• Bluetooth connection to desktop/laptop not intuitive
• Takes time to acclimate to two-piece keyboard
• Function key and Delete key locations are different to a traditional layout
• Escape key location too far on the keyboard layout
• Ease of access in mobile conditions
Conclusion:
The reduction in wrist extension and ulnar deviation is a beneficial aspect for this product which makes use of this keyboard a satisfying event. It would be most appropriate for workplaces that require intensive desktop work (typing, coding, data feeding etc.)
